Large Greywacke Ruru

Greywacke is one of the common rock types in the world. It is what most of our river rocks are made out of. I like that it is really understated – visually and in its origins. It is opaque so shows up form and surface texture well. It looks a medium grey colour from a distance but up close you can see lots of black and white flecks.
Because this Ruru is larger than my others I’ve carved out the back a bit to drop the weight.
Material – Greywacke
Size – 75mm high
Hand – plaited grey cord (6 strand). I can make it adjustable or add a toggle for fixed length.
